ROCK OF AGES
JUNE 18 – JULY 13
Written by Chris D’Arienzo
ROCK OF AGES is a jukebox musical that tells the story of Drew, a Bourbon Room busboy and Sherrie, a small-town girl, who are pursuing their dreams of becoming rock stars in Los Angeles. They fall in love at first sight, but their romance faces challenges from the music industry, rival bands, and a greedy developer who wants to demolish the rock club where they work. This musical is a brash, energetic, tribute to classic rock, built around classic rock songs of the 1980’s featuring songs from Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, and Poison, among other well-known rock bands. It’s a tribute to over-the-top ballads and fierce guitar, with the gritty glamor and rough energy of the Sunset Strip. You’ll be singing along with “Waiting for a Girl Like You”, “Pour Some Sugar on Me”, “Hit Me with Your Best Shot”, “Heat of the Moment”, “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn”, “More Than Words”, “We’re Not Gonna Take It”, “Don’t Stop Believing” and many more hits.

Thus, the remaining nuns –Reverend Mother Regina, a former circus performer; Sister Mary Hubert, the Mistress of Novices; a streetwise nun from Brooklyn named Sister Robert Anne; Sister Mary Leo, a novice who is a wannabe ballerina; the delightfully wacky Sister Mary Amnesia, the nun who lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head – stage a talent show in order to raise the money to bury their dearly departed. What follows is a madcap, slapstick evening full of murder, mystery, and laughs as they seek to puzzle out the culprit amongst criminals.
THE CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES: A SECOND HELPING
SEPTEMBER 24 – OCTOBER 12
Written by Greta Grosch
Music and Lyrics by Drew Jansen and Dennis Curley
CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES: A SECOND HELPING is a very funny musical set within rural Minnesota in the basement of the local Lutheran church where dedicated, resilient and quirky women work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the congregation running every event in between. The year is 1969 and the world is changing, as folks protest the Vietnam War, women are demanding equal pay for equal work and the Vikings are facing the Chiefs in the Superbowl, the ladies in the basement are dealing with changes of their own. From the elderly matriarch of the kitchen to the young mom-to-be, these women find strength in each other as they meet head-on the challenges of life. The Church Basement Ladies are Maples Rep favorites because “You’ll laugh ‘till your side dish hurts.”

Considered a classic of American theater, THE GLASS MENAGERIE is admired for its innovative use of symbolism and its timeless portrayal of family dynamics.
ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING
DECEMBER 3 – 14
By Duke Ernsberger and Virginia Cate
ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING is an enjoyable experience for fans of the King. It’s December 20th, 1970, and Elvis Presley has disappeared and no one, not even his wily manager, “The Colonel”, knows of his whereabouts. But the Colonel is All Shook Up because he has racked up a secret debt — and with the King himself missing, the only way to pay it off is to find an Elvis impersonator within 24 hours. Hijinks ensue as the Colonel keeps the prying eyes of a nosy reporter at bay from figuring out what happened to the real Elvis as a pair of Elvises battle for attention. It’ll be a “Blue Christmas” if you don’t see ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING.
